Responsibilities:

Do you enjoy working with new software and the software developers that create it?  Do you enjoy breaking things or pushing them to their limit?  Join us in our boutique software development team and find bugs, defects, oversights and other issues that stand in the way of quality.   Our team builds custom software that automates benchmarking and power debug of modern SOC-based microprocessors at AMD.  AMD Server Performance and Power Optimization team is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer for our Bangalore, India office. 

Skills Required:

• The successful candidate will understand Service Oriented Architecture concepts and have hands-on quality assurance skills in the field of web application, web service, database and/or JSON REST API. 
• The Quality Assurance Engineer will create test plans from requirements and design documentation, participate in requirements analysis and design functions, carry out test plan execution, give feedback and support the entire team by being an Expert on expected system behavior.  
• As part of the Agile scrum team, the Engineer will author and contribute new automated test cases in Python 3 and Scala language test frameworks. 
• We work in a CI/CD-based deployment environment using Docker containers, JSON REST web services, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, Spark, MongoDB and other distributed analytics/database systems. 
• We use Ansible and Tower for configuration management and orchestration of workloads we run against Linux and Windows-based servers.

In addition to exercising candidate software releases for correctness, we envision our Quality Assurance Engineer will apply “Grey Box” or “White Box” techniques to add additional value to our software development process. 

• Bad data inputs 
• Fuzzing of good data inputs 

We have a mix of Web Services, SPA Web Applications, Graph Processing node microservices and other automation helper services.  We use distributed analytics tools like Apache Spark and Hive, and SQL query skills are a necessity.  Our visualization and reporting is in Microsoft PowerBI, accessed over the web.
